Lil Boosie details how he spent prison time

Lil Boosie is crediting his four year prison stay with making him a better artist.  During a press conference and Q&A session streamed live on BoosieSpeaks.com Monday, Boosie explained how his time behind bars gave him new stories to tell through his music.

While behind bars Boosie -- born Torrence Hatch -- used those new experiences to pen over 1,000 new songs, some of which he's already begun recording for a new album.  The rapper even joked that he has a hit ready for Justin Bieber to collaborate on.

Music wasn't his only undertaking in prison.  Boosie explained that he's written his life experiences into a screenplay.  Titled "Boosie: The Movie," the rapper says he's still undecided about whether to shop it around to filmmakers, or raise the money for it himself.  Either way, he wants the film in theaters because he claims there's "no movie like this movie."

Apart from giving him creative material, Boosie said his time in Louisiana State Penitentiary made him a wiser and stronger person.

Lil Boosie pled guilty to felony drug charges in 2011 and was sentenced to eight years in prison.  He was released last week.
